Medical Social Worker (MSW)
The MSW provides medical social services within the scope of MSW practice standards in collaboration with primary care physicians and other members of the health care team and teaches and educates Clients and their families. Medical Social Services in the home is performed.
Qualifications:
- A Masters or Doctorate degree from a social work program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- Will have a minimum of one (1) year experience in Social Work in a health care setting, preferably in the homecare setting
- Currently licensed in VA
- Must have a criminal background check and any other required checks
- Current CPR certification
Social Worker Assistant (BSW)
The BSW provides medical social services within the scope of BSW practice standards in collaboration with primary care physicians and other members of the health care team and teaches and educates clients and their families. Licensed Social Services in the home is performed under the supervision of the Masters Medical Social Worker.
Qualifications:
- At least, BA degree with major studies in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology from a 4 year college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
- A current license in VA
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in case work or counseling in a health care setting or social services delivery system, prefer home care setting
- Criminal Background & other required checks
- Current CPR certification.
